original 1966 Ford Fairlane 427 or a 4-door 1966 Fairlane with a 289; An #'s matching
68' OLDS 442 or a Cutlass S, A 1957 Chevy tubbed w/blown 454 or 1977 Chevy Malibu
307 with Cragars. A 1970 Coronet has the same genetics as a SuperBee!
A 1964 GTO was
simply a Tempest factory provided with a big engine & other chassis enhancements.
Anybody can simply take a 1964 Tempest, add a big 389-400-428-455 and get the same
or better driving experience and fun factor as a GTO. Hell, I say leave your Tempest
with its 326, get a cool set of Hurst Rims, 4bbl carb & dual exhaust & voila----A
Muscle Car. Sure it may not be an assassin in the 1/4 mile but who cares....It will
sound great, look great and, as far as just cruising around, drive like a GTO*.
